DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — A multi-agency narcotics investigation concluded Friday night with the seizure of nearly 22 pounds of methamphetamine and the arrest of three individuals in Douglas County, according to authorities.
The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) said the investigation focused on 57-year-old James Teel of Camas Valley and his alleged involvement in methamphetamine distribution across the county, particularly in the Ten Mile area.
On March 27, detectives placed Teel under surveillance as he left his residence. Investigators contacted him in the 9,000 block of Highway 42. Authorities said Teel initially attempted to flee after detectives identified themselves and ordered him to stop. Detectives blocked his exit, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 named Trapper was deployed and alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle. Detectives then executed a search warrant on the vehicle and later served a second warrant at Teel’s residence in the 12,000 block of Highway 42 in Camas Valley.
Investigators reported locating evidence consistent with drug distribution, including significant quantities of narcotics and bulk cash.
