The Fatal three-vehicle crash happened Thursday afternoon near Wiard Street.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Klamath Falls man died Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on South 6th Street near the intersection with Wiard Street.

According to the Oregon State Police’s preliminary investigation, a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Sebastian Bufardeci Jr., 75, of Klamath Falls, was traveling westbound on South 6th Street near Wiard Street when it veered into the turn lane for an unknown reason.

Investigators said the Jeep clipped the driver’s side of a westbound silver Chevrolet Silverado driven by Benjamin Duval, 45, of Klamath Falls. The Jeep then continued into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a white Toyota Tundra driven by Alejandro Ruelas, 33, of Klamath Falls.

Bufardeci was pronounced dead at the scene. Ruelas was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center with minor injuries. Duval was reportedly not injured.

Traffic in the area was impacted for approximately three and a half hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.

OSP was assisted by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, Klamath County Fire District 1, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
