Driver Cited After Crash Damages Power Pole in West Medford

Two passengers injured as single-vehicle crash severs utility pole at Oakdale and Main

MEDFORD, Ore. — A driver has been cited following a single-vehicle crash that damaged a power pole and injured two passengers early Sunday morning in west Medford.

According to authorities, officers responded to the intersection of North Oakdale Avenue and West Main Street after a vehicle struck a power pole, severing it at the base and bringing down power lines.

Two passengers in the vehicle were injured and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 
 

The driver was also taken for medical care and later consented to a blood draw as part of the investigation. Following the investigation, the driver was cited and released on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, Assault III, Assault IV, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and criminal mischief.

The vehicle involved in the crash was heavily damaged and later removed from the scene by a towing company.
