Bicyclist Killed in Collision with Delivery Truck on McAndrews Road

Crash occurred on sidewalk as truck exited parking lot; investigation ongoing with no citations issued

MEDFORD, Ore. — A 65-year-old Medford resident has died following a collision involving a delivery truck on East McAndrews Road late last week, according to the Medford Police Department.

The incident occurred Friday, April 10, at approximately 11:26 a.m., when officers responded to a reported crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist just east of Poplar Drive.

According to police, the driver of a delivery vehicle called 911 after striking a bicyclist while exiting a parking lot on the south side of McAndrews Road. When emergency responders arrived, they found the cyclist trapped beneath the truck.

Rescue crews from Medford Fire and Mercy Flights worked to extricate the individual before transporting them to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the cyclist later died from their injuries.

Authorities said the bicyclist was traveling westbound along the south sidewalk of McAndrews Road at the time of the collision. The delivery truck had been stopped while preparing to turn eastbound when the crash occurred at the entrance to the parking lot.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time. Next of kin have been notified.

As of now, no citations have been issued, and investigators say there is no evidence of criminal activity. The case remains under active investigation.
