MEDFORD, Ore. — Two hands-on summer programs are now open to young women across the Rogue Valley, offering a closer look at careers in both law enforcement and fire service.
The Medford Police Department, along with partner agencies, is hosting the 2026 Rogue Valley Girls Police Camp for participants ages 14 to 20. The free program runs July 24 through July 26 and includes training in firearm safety, self-defense, investigations, radio communications, tactical building searches, and emergency vehicle operations. Applications for the police camp are due by June 5.
In addition, the Rogue Girls Fire Camp is also accepting applications for its 2026 session. The overnight camp, led by a task force of Rogue Valley female firefighters, is open to young women ages 16 to 20 and is designed to provide a deeper, immersive experience into life in the fire service.
The fire camp is scheduled for June 12 through June 14 and will include hands-on training and real-world scenarios inside a firehouse environment. Applications for the fire camp are due by May 8, and space is limited.
Both programs are offered at no cost and are intended to give participants practical exposure to public safety careers while connecting them with professionals currently working in the field.
