KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Police Department has announced the retirement of K9 Bullitt following a recent cancer diagnosis.
According to the department, Bullitt was diagnosed last month with an aggressive form of cancer that nearly claimed his life. While he is currently receiving treatment, officials say he is no longer able to continue his duties as a working K9.
Bullitt will now spend his remaining time with his handler, Sergeant Trahern Fox, and family, focusing on comfort and recovery after years of active service.
K9 Bullitt began serving the City of Klamath Falls in August 2017. A Belgian Malinois trained in both patrol and narcotics detection, he played a significant role in law enforcement operations and community safety efforts throughout his career.
Department officials expressed their gratitude for Bullitt’s service, recognizing his dedication and impact on both the agency and the community he served.
