Prospect Man Arrested on Child Sex Crime Charges

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office SVU detectives arrest 35-year-old suspect on five felony charges; investigation remains ongoing

PROSPECT, Ore. — Detectives with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) arrested a Prospect man Wednesday morning on multiple child sex crime charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mickey Lee Ryan Jr., 35, is charged with one count of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

The arrest took place just before 10 a.m. on April 15 at a trailer park in the 400 block of Mill Creek Drive in Prospect. Deputies took Ryan into custody without incident.

 
 

Following the arrest, Ryan was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare caseworkers from Jackson and Josephine counties assisted in the investigation.

Officials say the case remains open and ongoing, and no additional information is being released at this time.
