Arrest Made in Series of Stolen Vehicle and Burglary Investigations

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Blake Mogan, 36, of Sisters, in connection with multiple stolen vehicle and burglary investigations spanning December 2025 through February 2026.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the cases involved heavy equipment and other vehicles taken from locations in Sisters, Redmond, and Bend.

Initial Arrest in December

Deputies first encountered Mogan on December 9, 2025, when he was arrested in Redmond after operating a stolen construction loader that had been taken from a nearby job site. Following that incident, law enforcement agencies in the region began investigating additional thefts with similar reported methods and patterns.

February Incidents

On February 17, 2026, deputies located an abandoned and heavily damaged Sisters School District Chevrolet Suburban on Buckhorn Road. Investigators reported that evidence recovered from the vehicle, along with onboard video footage, identified Mogan as the individual responsible for unlawful entry into the school district’s transportation building and the theft of the vehicle.

On February 23, 2026, deputies responded to a report of a stolen City of Sisters F-450 crane truck. Working with partner agencies, law enforcement located the vehicle on a forest road northwest of Sisters. Mogan was contacted and taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, deputies also recovered a stolen utility trailer associated with the case.

Charges Filed

Authorities stated that during interviews, Mogan admitted involvement in multiple vehicle thefts, including incidents under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Bend Police Department, and the Black Butte Police Department.

Mogan was lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail on the following charges:

  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

  • Burglary in the Second Degree

  • Theft in the First Degree

  • Criminal Mischief

  • Criminal Trespass

  • Driving While Suspended

He also faces a parole violation detainer related to prior convictions. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the investigations remain ongoing and additional charges from partner agencies may follow.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Sisters School District, City of Sisters Public Works, Black Butte Police Department, and Bend Police Department for their assistance throughout the investigations.
