MEDFORD, Ore. — Summer baseball is back in the Rogue Valley.

The Medford Rogues open their 2026 season Thursday night at Harry & David Field, beginning another summer of collegiate wood-bat baseball, theme nights, giveaways, fireworks and family-focused ballpark entertainment in Medford.

First pitch for opening night is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Thursday, May 28, against the Seattle Cheney Studs. Gates open one hour before game time.

Opening weekend continues Friday and Saturday at 6:35 p.m., followed by a Sunday afternoon game at 1:05 p.m. The four-game stretch gives fans their first look at the 2026 Rogues roster and begins a schedule that runs through late July, with Pacific Empire League playoffs scheduled for July 28-31.

Thursday’s opener includes a magnet schedule giveaway sponsored by Summit Family Dental Care. Friday is Southern Oregon University Night, with fans encouraged to wear college gear. Saturday brings Country Night, sponsored by Rogue Disposal & Recycling.

For the Rogues, opening weekend also marks the return of one of the region’s most familiar summer traditions. The club has built its identity around affordable family entertainment, community involvement and competitive summer collegiate baseball at Harry & David Field.

The Rogues describe their mission as service to the community, with a focus on providing affordable entertainment while supporting local nonprofits, youth sports programs and other community groups throughout the Rogue Valley.

This year’s team is led by manager Kevin Olmstead, who returns for his second summer with Medford. Olmstead has deep Southern Oregon ties as a Grants Pass native and North Valley High School graduate. He previously served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oregon Tech, where he was part of one of the most successful stretches in the Owls’ baseball history.

During Olmstead’s time at Oregon Tech, the Owls won their first Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season championship (2023) since the 1980s. In 2025, Oregon Tech set a program record with 39 wins and reached the NAIA National Tournament for the first time.

He is joined on the Rogues coaching staff by assistant coaches Nick Burger, Jacob Seitz and Jacob Morgan.

The 2026 roster includes players from across the West Coast and beyond, with several Oregon and Southern Oregon connections. Local and regional names include catcher Kaleb Long of Medford, pitcher Caleb Randolph of Central Point, pitcher Evan Rhoden of Central Point and infielder Jackson Rosenthal of Ashland. The roster also includes Oregon Tech players Randolph, Noah Loew and Logan Macy.

In a recent episode of the Rogues’ Plank Talk podcast, team president and co-owner Dave May described the offseason work required to prepare for summer baseball, from roster construction and scheduling to concessions, merchandise and fan experience upgrades. May said he is excited to get “the boys and the band back together” in Medford.

That offseason work will show up throughout the summer in the form of special events, theme nights and ballpark promotions.

The promotional schedule includes Rowdy Ball on June 3, First Responders Night on June 6, fireworks shows on June 5, June 12, June 19 and July 4, Southern Oregon Little League Night on June 20, Father’s Day specials on June 21, waterslide events on June 26 and July 11, jersey auctions and a Fan Appreciation Series from July 21-23.

Weekly promotions include Rogue Credit Union Wednesdays, with members receiving half-off tickets and hot dogs at the ballpark ticket office. Thursdays include Thirsty Thursday promotions sponsored by pFriem Brewing and fan giveaway items. Sundays feature half-price general admission tickets presented by Ko-Kwel Casino & Resort.

The Rogues compete in the Pacific Empire League, which also includes the Healdsburg Prune Packers, Humboldt Crabs, Lincoln Potters, Marysville Giants, Solano Mudcats and West Coast Kings.

The 2026 schedule also includes non-league opponents such as the California Tigers, Fresno Athletics, Lydo’s Labs, Medford Mustangs, Redmond Dudes, Rogue Valley All Stars and Seattle Cheney Studs.

Single-game ticket prices are $13 for Strike Zone seats in sections A-G, $12 for Hilts Family Seats and $10 for general admission bleachers or grass area seating. Some promotional games may include discounted ticket options through sponsors.

Tickets are fully digital and can be purchased online in advance at Fans may also buy tickets at the ballpark ticket office beginning one hour before game time, though the team recommends purchasing ahead of time to avoid delays.
