JACKSONVILLE, Ore. — The Jacksonville Police Department reported a series of incidents over the past week, including a multi-agency arrest tied to a violent assault, a firearm-related arrest involving a convicted felon, and a DUII case involving an intoxicated e-bike rider.
According to Jacksonville Police, officers assisted in a countywide attempt to locate a suspect vehicle on the evening of April 23 following a reported assault in the 2700 block of Scenic Avenue near Central Point. Authorities said a property owner was struck by a black lifted GMC truck, causing significant injuries. Gunfire was also reported prior to the collision, and the vehicle fled the scene.
At approximately 9:24 p.m., a Jacksonville officer located the suspect vehicle in the 500 block of North 5th Street. The vehicle re-entered the roadway, and the officer maintained visual contact while coordinating with additional units. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted near Clover Lane involving multiple agencies, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Medford Police. Three occupants were taken into custody without incident. The driver faces charges including Assault III and Hit and Run, while two passengers were cited on trespass-related charges. All three were lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
The following night, April 24, a Jacksonville officer conducted a traffic stop for expired registration at approximately 10:16 p.m. During the stop, the driver was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license and without insurance. Officers also observed a firearm in the waistband of a passenger. Further investigation determined the individual had a prior felony conviction, making possession of a firearm unlawful. The passenger was taken into custody and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Weapon.
On the morning of April 25, officers responded to a report of an intoxicated individual who had fallen from an e-bike near Doc Griffin Park. The individual was located in the downtown area and, according to police, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to operating the e-bike. Based on observed impairment, the individual was taken into custody and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on a charge of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
Jacksonville Police said the incidents reflect ongoing efforts to maintain public safety through proactive policing and coordination with regional law enforcement partners.
