Klamath Falls Schools, Classified Union Reach Tentative Agreement

District announces deal following mediated negotiations, pending ratification and board approval

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Klamath Falls City Schools and its classified employees union have reached a tentative agreement following a round of mediated negotiations, according to a joint announcement released Monday.

The agreement was reached April 13 with the assistance of a mediator from the Oregon Employment Relations Board, marking a step forward after ongoing discussions between the district and the Klamath Falls Association of Classified Employees (KFACE).

District officials and union representatives described the negotiations as collaborative, emphasizing a shared focus on supporting students, recognizing staff contributions, and strengthening the overall school environment.

“This tentative agreement represents meaningful progress and reflects our appreciation for the essential contributions of classified staff,” district leadership said in a statement.

Union representatives also highlighted the cooperative nature of the process, stating the agreement was the result of good-faith efforts on both sides and a mutual commitment to supporting employees who play a key role in student success.

Specific details of the agreement have not yet been released and are expected to be shared with union members and district stakeholders in the coming days.

The tentative agreement must still be ratified by union membership and approved by the Klamath Falls City Schools Board before it becomes final.
