Foothill Road Project Nears Completion

The $62 million Medford improvement project is expected to wrap up by mid-summer, transforming Foothill Road into a modern four-lane corridor.

MEDFORD, Ore. – Work on Medford’s Foothill Road Improvement Project is entering its final stages, with completion expected by mid-summer, according to the City of Medford.

Crews are wrapping up paving and driveway connections north of Delta Waters Road. Sidewalk and driveway connection work is also underway on the south side of the project area.

Upcoming work includes installing concrete separators and traffic islands from Cedar Links Drive to Delta Waters Road. Landscaping and final striping are also scheduled soon.

The project began in early 2023 and is upgrading Foothill Road from Delta Waters Road to Hillcrest Road. The $62 million improvement project was funded in part by a $15 million Federal BUILD Grant.

Once complete, the project will transform the former two-lane road into a modern corridor with four lanes, turn lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks and street lighting.

City officials say the upgrades are intended to improve safety, access and traffic flow along one of Medford’s major north-south routes.
