Highland Avenue Crash Leaves Man Dead

Grants Pass police say 22-year-old Gabriel Davis died after his car crossed into oncoming traffic Tuesday morning.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A 22-year-old man died Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Highland Avenue in Grants Pass.

The Grants Pass Police 911 Dispatch Center was notified of the crash in the 2700 block of Highland Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. on June 2. Police said the caller reported two vehicles had collided in the roadway, with one of them catching fire after the crash.

Bystanders helped the people involved before first responders arrived. One driver was confirmed dead at the scene.

 
 

Grants Pass police identified the man who died as Gabriel Davis, 22. Investigators determined Davis’ car veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Grants Pass police detectives and a crash reconstructionist assisted with the investigation. Police said the investigation is complete, though anyone with information may call the department at 541-450-6260.
