Warm Holiday Weekend Ahead Across the Region
Temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above normal with warmest conditions expected on Easter Sunday
MEDFORD, Ore. — A stable atmospheric pattern is expected to bring warmer-than-normal temperatures across Southern Oregon and Northern California this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Medford.
Forecasters say temperatures could run 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal averages across much of the region, particularly in areas west of the Cascades.
The warmest temperatures are expected on Easter Sunday, when many lower-elevation communities could see the highest readings of the weekend.
The National Weather Service notes that these conditions may reach a Minor HeatRisk level. While impacts are expected to be limited, individuals who are especially sensitive to heat — particularly those without access to cooling or adequate hydration — could experience heat-related illnesses.
Officials recommend staying hydrated, limiting prolonged outdoor exposure during the warmest parts of the day, and checking on vulnerable individuals who may be more susceptible to heat.
The warmer pattern is expected to persist through the weekend before temperatures trend closer to seasonal norms early next week.
