Memorial Day Events Set Across the Region
Communities across Southern Oregon and Northern California will gather Monday to remember U.S. service members who died in service to the nation.
MEDFORD, Ore. — Communities across the region will gather Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day ceremonies, parades and acts of remembrance honoring U.S. military members who died in service to the country.
Memorial Day is the nation’s annual day to mourn and honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives while serving. Across Southern Oregon and Northern California, residents will mark the day with cemetery services, flag displays, wreath ceremonies, music, military honors and community gatherings.
The following events are planned across the region.
Klamath Basin
Location: Klamath Falls
Event: Memorial Day Parade
Time: 10 a.m.
Details: The Memorial Day Parade will be held in downtown Klamath Falls, beginning near Main Street and Spring Street and proceeding along Main Street toward Veterans Park. Participants will stage on Spring Street south of Main Street. Main Street is expected to be closed to motorists from approximately 9 a.m. to noon.

Event: Memorial Day Ceremony
Time: 11 a.m.
Details: A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Veterans Park following the parade. The ceremony will honor fallen members of the U.S. military and provide a community moment of remembrance for those who died in service to the country.

Event: Sunrise Service
Time: 6 a.m.
Details: A sunrise service is listed at Klamath Memorial Park Cemetery, 2680 Memorial Drive, as part of Klamath Falls’ Memorial Day observances.

Rogue Valley
Location: Medford
Event: Historic Cemetery Open House
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Details: IOOF Eastwood Cemetery, also known as Medford Odd Fellows Cemetery, will hold a Memorial Day open house at 1581 Siskiyou Blvd. The cemetery, founded in 1890, is the first and oldest continuously operating cemetery in Medford and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Volunteers and staff will be available to answer questions.

Event: Memory Gardens Ceremony
Time: 11 a.m.
Details: Memory Gardens Mortuary & Memorial Park, 1395 Arnold Lane, will hold a Memorial Day ceremony honoring Presidential Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Army Private Frank C. High. A military exhibit featuring uniforms, photos and educational information will also be displayed in the main building. Complimentary hot dogs, chips, beverages and Kona Shaved Ice are planned.

Event: Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Dedication
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Details: An 80% scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., will be unveiled at 1203 North Ross Lane, adjacent to Logos Charter School. The dedication marks the culmination of more than a dozen years of fundraising and planning by Southern Oregon Veterans Benefit. Speakers are expected to include U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden and U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring a lawn chair.

Event: Hillcrest Memorial Ceremony
Time: 1 p.m.
Details: Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 2201 North Phoenix Road, will hold a Memorial Day ceremony. The main building will also feature a military exhibit with uniforms, photos and educational information. Complimentary hot dogs, chips, beverages and Kona Shaved Ice are planned.
Location: Eagle Point
Event: Avenue of the Flags
Time: Displayed throughout Memorial Day observances
Details: The Eagle Point Chamber of Commerce Flag Committee will display more than 175 flags along the route beginning at Highway 62 and leading to Eagle Point National Cemetery. Each flag once draped the casket of an American veteran and was donated by families in honor of those who served.

Event: Eagle Point National Cemetery Memorial Day Service
Time: 11 a.m.
Details: Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, will hold its annual Memorial Day observance. The program is expected to include guest speakers, with Rick Skiff, acting director for the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City, among those scheduled. Bob Huff will serve as master of ceremonies.
Location: Ashland
Event: Memorial Day Observance
Time: 10:30 a.m. music, 11 a.m. formal ceremony
Details: BSA Scout Troop 112 will host a Memorial Day observance at Mountain View Cemetery, 440 Normal Ave., across from Ashland Fire & Rescue Station 2. The Ashland Brass Band will perform before the formal ceremony. Scouts from Troop 112 will participate in flag ceremonies, and American Legion Post 14 members will assist with the program.
Josephine County
Location: Grants Pass
Event: Boatnik Memorial Service
Time: 11:45 a.m.
Details: Boatnik will hold its Memorial Day service in Grants Pass. Organizers describe the ceremony as the largest Memorial Service in Southern Oregon. The observance includes a wreath laying on the Rogue River by a veteran, military personnel in vehicles on the bridge, a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps” by bagpipe while the flag is displayed from the bridge.
Wild Rivers Coast
Location: Brookings
Event: VFW Memorial Day Observance
Time: Check local VFW Post 966 and Azalea Festival listings for final schedule details
Details: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 966 is hosting Memorial Day observances in the Brookings area to honor fallen service members. The observance is part of the broader Memorial Day weekend events surrounding the Brookings Azalea Festival.
Location: Crescent City
Event: Memorial Day Gathering at Veterans Memorial Cemetery
Time: 10 a.m.
Details: A community Memorial Day event honoring fallen service members is planned at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Crescent City. VFW Post 1381 is also organizing flag tributes, with volunteers assisting in placing flags at Crescent City Cemetery and retrieving them following the weekend’s events.

Siskiyou County
Location: Weed area
Event: Living Memorial Sculpture Garden Memorial Day Ceremony
Time: Held Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.
Details: The Living Memorial Sculpture Garden, located off Highway 97 north of Weed, held its 2026 Memorial Day ceremony during the holiday weekend. The garden includes the Hot LZ Memorial Wall and honors veterans through memorial sculptures and dedicated names.
Statewide
Location: Salem / Livestream
Event: Oregon Statewide Memorial Day Ceremony
Time: 11 a.m.
Details: The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs will host Oregon’s annual Statewide Memorial Day Ceremony at the Oregon State Capitol State Park in Salem. The ceremony honors Oregon’s fallen service members from all eras and will include remarks from dignitaries, a color guard, the national anthem, wreath laying and the playing of “Taps.” The event will also be livestreamed through ODVA’s Facebook page.
Regional Note
Southern Oregon residents should not expect Memorial Day military flyovers from Kingsley Field this year. The 173rd Fighter Wing has said requested flyovers are unavailable until late 2027 as the base transitions from the F-15 Eagle training mission to the proposed F-35A Lightning II training mission.
