CHILOQUIN, Ore. — Firefighters worked through the night on the Yoss Creek Fire north of Chiloquin, keeping the human-caused fire at approximately 8 acres, according to the South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership.

SCOFMP said Thursday morning that the fire is now fully lined, with crews continuing full suppression efforts as dry weather and winds remain a concern.

The fire is burning near Yoss Creek, south of the Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge and east of Kirk Road. Smoke may be visible from the Silver Lake Highway area.

No structures are threatened, and no road closures have been reported.

Officials said crews are continuing to monitor the fire area and address any spot fires. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Resources assigned to the fire include two 20-person hand crews, six engines, one dozer, two water tenders and one drone module. Aerial resources include air attack, four Single Engine Air Tankers, one Large Air Tanker and two helicopters.

 
 

SCOFMP reminded the public to remain diligent on public lands as fire season continues.

“Your awareness and actions help protect our communities, firefighters, and natural resources,” the agency said.
