Bonanza Woman Killed in Oregon 39 Crash

OSP says the crash happened Tuesday morning at the South Side Expressway intersection.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Bonanza woman was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 39 at the South Side Expressway intersection, according to Oregon State Police.

OSP says troopers responded to the crash at 11:21 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16.

According to the preliminary investigation, a white Kia Sedona driven by Fatima Abrica Torres, 38, of Merrill, was traveling south on Highway 39 when it was struck by a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Lenayah Priscilla King, 71, of Bonanza.

 
 

Investigators say King had stopped at a stop sign and was attempting to turn left onto Highway 39 to travel north when she failed to yield to the southbound Kia driven by Torres.

King was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Torres and two juvenile passengers were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to OSP.

Traffic was impacted for about 30 minutes during the on-scene investigation.

OSP was assisted by Klamath County Fire District #1 and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
