ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a domestic violence homicide after authorities say a man called dispatch early Saturday morning and reported he had shot a woman during an altercation at a rural Rogue River-area home.
Deputies responded at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, June 27, to a residence in the 1900 block of Sykes Creek Road, according to JCSO. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The woman killed has been identified as Onalea Clay, 59, of Wimer. JCSO said her next of kin has been notified and offered condolences to her family and friends.
Authorities said Clay and the suspect were in a domestic relationship.
