Outbuildings Burn in Kerby Structure Fire

Illinois Valley Fire District says two outbuildings were fully engulfed, while the nearby home sustained only minor damage.

KERBY, Ore. — Fire crews responded Friday morning to a structure fire on Hathaway Drive in Kerby that involved two fully engulfed outbuildings.

According to Illinois Valley Fire District, the fire was reported at 11:21 a.m. on May 1 in the 1xx block of Hathaway Drive. Illinois Valley Fire District responded along with Rural Metro Fire Josephine County, AMR Josephine County, and the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.

Fire officials said the incident involved two outbuildings that were fully engulfed. The nearby primary residence sustained only minor damage.

 
 

Fire suppression crews were able to extinguish the fires and remained on scene for mop-up operations.

No injuries were reported.

Illinois Valley Fire District also said crews were able to respond to a separate medical aid call in O’Brien at the same time, working in collaboration with AMR.
