Mobile Home Fire Reported on Bisbee Street

Vacant structure heavily damaged; no injuries reported, cause under investigation

KLAMATH FALLS — Klamath County Fire District 1 responded Thursday to reports of a possible motorhome fire in the 4600 block of Bisbee Street.

Upon arrival, the first engine company determined the incident involved a single-wide mobile home with significant fire involvement rather than a motorhome as initially reported.

Firefighters observed heavy fire showing from multiple windows and through the roof along the rear half of the structure during their initial assessment. Due to the conditions, command upgraded the incident to a full structure fire response to secure additional personnel and apparatus.

Crews began a coordinated exterior fire attack to quickly knock down the bulk of the flames and prevent further spread. Once conditions improved, firefighters transitioned to an interior attack to contain and extinguish remaining hot spots. Officials said the combined suppression efforts helped limit additional structural damage.

A primary search confirmed the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The mobile home was identified as vacant and unsecured. Electrical service to the structure was active during the incident. Natural gas service had previously been shut off by Avista.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and is currently classified as undetermined.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

Klamath County Fire District 1 reminds property owners of the importance of securing vacant structures and properly managing utilities to reduce fire risk and prevent unauthorized access.
