MEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford man has been arrested following an early morning drive-by shooting that struck an apartment building but left no injuries, according to the Medford Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 1:50 a.m. March 4 to reports of shots fired at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Swing Lane. When officers arrived, they discovered that the apartment had been struck by multiple rounds.

No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, officers identified a possible suspect and a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. Investigators later located the vehicle using Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., officers found the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter on the south side of Medford.

Police deployed a drone to assist with surveillance and observed the suspect exiting the vehicle and walking toward the store. Officers then took the individual into custody before he reached the building. The arrest was made without incident.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Bryce W. Kleinhanz, was transported to the Medford Police Department for questioning while detectives executed a search warrant on his vehicle.

Investigators reported that evidence connected to the case was recovered during the search.

Kleinhanz was later lodged at the Jackson County Jail and faces multiple charges, including:

• Attempted Murder in the Second Degree
• Attempted Assault in the First Degree
• Unlawful Use of a Weapon
• Criminal Mischief in the First Degree
• Recklessly Endangering Another Person

According to police, investigators believe the suspect was known to the occupants of the apartment and that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the involved parties.

Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the firearm believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered.

The case remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
