CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 28-year-old man who was found deceased Wednesday morning near the Lower Table Rock cliffs after being reported missing the night before.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Search and Rescue deputies and volunteers were dispatched after a report was received at 9:38 p.m. Tuesday of a man missing and last seen on the Lower Table Rock trail. The call was relayed through emergency communications dispatch.
Search efforts continued into Wednesday morning, when crews located the man deceased from what investigators described as an apparent fall from the Lower Table Rock cliffs. Search and Rescue personnel coordinated the recovery operation.
Officials said the case remains under investigation, but at this time the death appears to be non-criminal, and there is no evidence of foul play.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that next of kin has been notified. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the decedent’s identity is not being released.
“Our condolences go out to the man’s family and friends,” the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “There is no further information available for release.”
