Lions Club Building Damaged in Cave Junction Structure Fire

Fire crews quickly extinguish blaze; cause remains under investigation

CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Fire crews responded Sunday morning to a structure fire at the Lions Club building in Cave Junction, prompting a multi-agency response and temporary traffic impacts along North Redwood Highway.

According to dispatch information from Grants Pass 911 Communications, the fire was reported April 5, 2026, at 11:33 a.m. at 110 North Redwood Highway. The Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR-Josephine County, and Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County were dispatched to the scene of a reported commercial structure fire.

Officials said a nearby food truck operator initiated the 911 call after noticing the incident.

Upon arrival, responding units observed smoke coming from the eaves and roofline of the building. Firefighters made entry into the structure, confirmed an active fire, and worked to extinguish it.

 
 

Pacific Power was contacted to verify that electrical service to the building had been disconnected, while the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with traffic management in the area during the response.

The fire was later confirmed extinguished, and the property was returned to the occupants. Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
