Juvenile Arrested After Stabbing in Medford

Victim suffers serious but non-life-threatening injuries following altercation

MEDFORD, Ore. — A juvenile female has been taken into custody following a stabbing Wednesday evening in Medford, according to the Medford Police Department.

Officers responded around 5:20 p.m. on April 1 to a report of a recent assault in the 200 block of North Ivy Street. When officers arrived, they began investigating an incident involving two juvenile females who had been engaged in a physical altercation in the roadway.

 
 

Police say that during the fight, one of the juveniles produced a knife and stabbed the other. Officers later located the victim, who was found to have sustained multiple stab wounds.

Authorities reported the victim’s injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.

Investigators identified the suspected juvenile involved in the stabbing, who was taken into custody and charged with Assault in the First Degree. Officials said no additional information is being released at this time.

The case has been forwarded to Jackson County Juvenile Services for prosecution.
