PRCA Rodeo Returns to the Basin with Klamath River Roundup

Three-day PRCA rodeo marks the return of professional rodeo to Klamath Falls.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Professional rodeo is returning to the Klamath Basin this weekend with the first Klamath River Roundup.

The three-day PRCA-sanctioned rodeo beginning Friday, June 12, and running through Sunday, June 14, inside the John Hancock Arena at the Klamath County Fairgrounds, 3531 South 6th Street in Klamath Falls.

The inaugural event brings Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association competition back to Klamath Falls and is being promoted by organizers as the return of PRCA rodeo to the basin for the first time since 2014.

For fans, that means the sights, smells, and emotions of rodeo are back in the basin for a full weekend of competition.

The Klamath River Roundup is organized by the Friends of the Klamath County Fairgrounds, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Proceeds from the rodeo will be granted back to the fairgrounds to support repairs, maintenance, improvements and overall operations of the facility.

The rodeo is sanctioned across three PRCA circuits: the Columbia River Circuit, California Circuit and Wilderness Circuit. Organizers say competitors from those circuits will take part in a full slate of rodeo events, including bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

The weekend begins Friday, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the first rodeo performance scheduled for 7 p.m. on the dirt.

Saturday begins early with a slack performance at 8 a.m. Admission to the slack performance is free. Gates reopen at 5 p.m. for the evening rodeo performance, which begins at 7 p.m. and requires a ticket.

Saturday’s rodeo will be followed by an after party featuring Marty Combs & the High Desert Boys at the Event Center.

Sunday starts with Cowboy Church at 9:30 a.m. in the arena. Gates open at noon for the final rodeo performance of the weekend, scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Although Sunday is billed as Championship Sunday, organizers note that the weekend does not include a separate championship round. According to the event’s FAQ, all three rodeo performances will feature the same event format and are expected to last about two hours.

The Klamath River Roundup will be announced by Anthony Lucia, a two-time PRCA Announcer of the Year and 2025 National Finals Rodeo announcer. Rough stock will be provided by Four Star Rodeo Co. of Cottonwood, California, and Big Stone Rodeo, Inc. of Canada.

Intermission entertainment will feature Austin Singley, an award-winning rodeo clown, entertainer and stuntman from Clearfield, Utah.

Food and drink vendors, concessions and a bar will be available on site. Outside food and drinks are not allowed, though food and drinks purchased from rodeo vendors may be brought inside the Event Center. Re-entry will be allowed.

Tickets are available online through the Klamath River Roundup website. Organizers note that ETix is the only official online ticketing platform for the event. Children 2 and under are free, and military and senior discounts are available for Sunday’s performance.

As of Thursday, advance ticket sales have ended. Posted at-the-gate ticket prices are $35 for Friday and Saturday, and $25 for Sunday. Tickets ordered online through the official site may include processing fees.

Organizers note that only tickets purchased through the official Klamath River Roundup website or official event channels will be honored. Tickets purchased from third-party, resale or copied-ticket sources may be lost, stolen or counterfeit and will not be accepted. All sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges.

Beyond the competition, the Roundup marks a new chapter for the local rodeo community and the Klamath County Fairgrounds. After more than a decade without PRCA rodeo in Klamath Falls, organizers hope the three-day event can become a new annual tradition for the Basin, built around rodeo, community and support for the venue that hosts it.
