Medford Rogues Open Season 3-1, Host Redmond Dudes This Weekend
After a strong opening series and two midweek exhibition games, the Rogues continue their early-season schedule with three home games against Redmond at Harry & David Field.

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Rogues are off to a strong start to the 2026 summer baseball season, opening with a 3-1 overall record and three straight wins after dropping their first completed game of the year.
Medford began the season against the Seattle Cheney Studs, with the May 28 opener rained out before the teams returned to the field for four games over three days. After falling 3-2 on May 29, the Rogues bounced back with wins of 4-2, 8-3 and 5-2 to close the opening series.
Through four games, the Rogues have scored 19 runs while batting .308 as a team. Medford has also shown patience at the plate, posting a .431 on-base percentage with 17 walks.
Chris Ortiz has led the early offense, batting .556 with five hits, three runs scored and a .692 on-base percentage. Diego Gabriel and Daniel Behrmann are each hitting .500, with Gabriel adding a double and a .625 slugging percentage, while Behrmann has driven in two runs and reached base at a .667 clip.
Anthony Thomas Jr. has supplied some early power, leading the team in slugging percentage at .778 while recording a triple, a home run and four RBIs. Jaden Neugebauer has also driven in four runs for Medford, while Evan Saito has added three RBIs through the first four games.
On the mound, the Rogues have opened with a 2.25 team ERA while holding opponents to a .207 batting average. Lorenzo Lew has worked 6.1 innings with a 1.42 ERA and seven strikeouts, while Herman Luna has logged nine innings with seven strikeouts. Caleb Randolph, Matt Ibrahim Jr., Jaden Neugebauer and Austin Vaughan have each posted scoreless early-season appearances.
The Rogues also stayed active during the off days with a pair of local exhibition games that did not count toward the standings.
On Wednesday, Medford played a “Rowdy Ball” exhibition against the Rogue Valley All-Stars, an entertainment-style game inspired by the Savannah Bananas. The Rogues fell 7-6 in the just-for-fun matchup.
On Thursday, Medford returned to the field for the “Battle of Medford” against the Medford Mustangs, the local American Legion baseball team. The Rogues won 5-1, with Ashland native Jackson Rosenthal hitting a second-inning home run to open the scoring.
Medford added four runs in the fourth inning against the Mustangs, with Diego Gabriel and Jonathan Walsh each recording doubles. Forest Zelmer started on the mound and threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Austin Vaughan, Matt Ibrahim Jr. and Evan Rhoden also pitched in the exhibition win.
The Rogues now continue their early-season home schedule with a three-game weekend series against the Redmond Dudes at Harry & David Field.
Friday’s game begins at 6:35 p.m. and will feature the first fireworks show of the season, sponsored by Rockwell Real Estate. Saturday’s game is also scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and will be First Responders Night, presented with Mercy Flights.
The series wraps up Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. game. Sunday’s promotion includes half-price tickets courtesy of Ko-Kwel Casino Resort Medford.
