Klamath Falls Police Seek Help Identifying Person of Interest in Assault

Incident reported January 13 at Ewauna Apartments; detectives request public assistance

The Klamath Falls Police Department is requesting assistance from the community as detectives investigate an assault reported on January 13, 2026.

According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:26 p.m. to the Ewauna Apartments, located at 219 South 11th Street in Klamath Falls, following a report of an assault. Klamath 911 dispatch advised that a reporting party stated a friend had been assaulted by a male suspect.

The victim was identified as Joe Dane, 55. He was last seen in the alleyway near the apartment complex where the incident was reported.

Witnesses told police they observed a suspicious male running from the area near the scene of the assault. The individual was described as wearing blue jeans, a blue vest-style hoodie, a gray sweater, black Vans shoes, and blue gloves.

Detectives are actively working to identify the individual and determine their involvement in the incident.
