Medford’s Foothill Road Improvement Project is nearing completion, with work expected to wrap up by mid-summer. The $62 million project is upgrading Foothill Road from Delta Waters Road to Hillcrest Road with four lanes, turn lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting and other corridor improvements.

Bridge repair work is beginning on Oregon 62 at the Lost Creek Lake/Peyton Bridge north of Shady Cove. ODOT says drivers should expect a single-lane work zone, reduced speeds, automated traffic control and short delays through fall 2026 as crews repair the bridge deck, joints, pavement and guardrails.

The City of Ashland and Ashland Chamber of Commerce say they are working with ODOT to address concerns about downtown curb construction and its impact on small businesses. After a joint letter and meeting, ODOT agreed to adjust staging, improve signage, review work zones and increase communication during the project.

Ride the Rim at Crater Lake National Park has been cancelled for 2026 due to major construction projects affecting roads, trails, and visitor areas. Officials say the work includes improvements to East Rim Drive, Cleetwood Cove Trail and Marina, and other park facilities. While the event will not take place this year, the park will remain open to visitors, and planning is already underway to bring Ride the Rim back in 2027.

Travelers along U.S. Highway 199 and State Route 197 in Del Norte County should prepare for four-hour midday closures starting as early as May as Caltrans begins major upgrades along the corridor. The multi-year project aims to improve safety and bring the route up to national truck standards, with closures expected Tuesdays through Thursdays for about one year.
