A Klamath Falls coffee business has been named the Portland District SBA Rural Business of the Year, marking the first time the award has been presented to a rural business in Oregon. Owners Carly and Ryan Lynch were honored during a ceremony at their Spring Street location and credited the Klamath Community College Small Business Development Center for helping them build and grow the business.

Student entrepreneurs at Oregon Tech competed for startup funding during the 2026 Catalyze Klamath Challenge, where $20,500 was awarded to help turn product ideas into real businesses. Winning concepts included a patented deck vacuum attachment and a fog-eliminating dental mirror.

Klamath IDEA will host Southern Oregon entrepreneur and innovation leader Dr. Kim Freeze as the featured IDEA Talks! speaker on November 20. The event will explore innovation, mindset, and the power of community collaboration.
