Salad Recall Issued Over Sesame Allergen

The affected vegan kale Caesar salad was sold at Oregon stores including Ashland and Medford.

OREGON — Market of Choice has issued a recall for its 9.5-ounce Vegan Kale Caesar Salad after an internal review found sesame was included in the product but not listed on the label.

The company said the recall applies to salads with expiration dates ranging from April 20, 2026, through May 8, 2026. The affected product was packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container and labeled with UPC 0 210126 01099 3.

The recalled salads were sold at Market of Choice stores in Ashland, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene, Hillsboro, Medford, Portland and West Linn between April 16 and May 4, 2026.

According to the company, people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to sesame could face a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the affected salad. No illnesses had been reported as of the company’s announcement.

Market of Choice said no other products are affected by the recall. The company said the affected salads have been removed from stores and that it is taking steps to correct the labeling issue.

Customers who purchased the affected salad and have a sesame allergy or sensitivity should not eat it. The company said customers may return the salad to a local Market of Choice store for a full refund or dispose of it safely.

Customers with questions can contact Market of Choice Food Safety & Quality Assurance at 503-501-6746 or by email at ktrimp@marketofchoice.com Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT.
