Lithia Acquires Mercedes-Benz of Medford

Medford-based automotive retailer adds hometown luxury dealership as part of broader expansion

MEDFORD, Ore. — Lithia & Driveway has acquired Mercedes-Benz of Medford, expanding its presence in the community where the company was founded nearly 80 years ago.

Company leaders say the addition of the luxury dealership strengthens Lithia’s portfolio of premium brands while reinforcing its continued investment in Southern Oregon.

“We are proud to welcome Toyota of Gallatin and Mercedes-Benz of Medford to the Lithia & Driveway family,” said Bryan DeBoer, president and CEO of Lithia & Driveway. “Welcoming a premier luxury store in Medford, where our company was founded, makes this addition especially meaningful as we mark our 80th year serving customers.”

Lithia said the acquisition reflects its ongoing strategy of expanding both luxury and core vehicle brands while continuing to grow in key markets. The addition of the Mercedes-Benz dealership further strengthens the company’s hometown footprint in Medford, which remains central to Lithia’s identity and operations.

The company also announced the acquisition of Toyota of Gallatin in Gallatin, Tennessee, marking its entry into the Nashville market. Together, the two acquisitions bring Lithia’s year-to-date annualized U.S. revenue from newly acquired dealerships to approximately $225 million.

Lithia said the purchases were financed using existing balance-sheet capacity.

Founded in Medford in 1946, Lithia & Driveway has grown into one of the largest automotive retailers in the world, operating a broad network of physical dealerships and digital platforms designed to simplify vehicle purchasing, financing, and service.

In 2026, the company is celebrating 80 years in business, continuing to expand its global automotive retail network while maintaining its roots in Southern Oregon.
