Raiders Head to National Stage
Southern Oregon University will compete on two national stages next week as Raider softball returns to the NAIA Softball World Series as the No. 3 overall seed and six SOU track and field athletes head to the NAIA Outdoor Championships in North Carolina.
Lady Owls Season Ends at Home
Oregon Tech’s softball season came to an emotional end at Stilwell Stadium as Our Lady of the Lake defeated the Lady Owls 5-3 in the NAIA Opening Round title game. The loss closed a 43-10 season and marked the final collegiate game for nine Oregon Tech seniors.
Raiders Advance, Owls Face Deciding Game
Southern Oregon softball is headed back to the NAIA World Series after winning the Ashland Bracket championship, while Oregon Tech will play a winner-take-all game Thursday after falling to Our Lady of the Lake in Klamath Falls. The Raiders will return to Georgia to defend their national title, and the Owls still have a chance to join them.
Lady Owls Reach Bracket Final
Oregon Tech advanced to the Klamath Falls Bracket final Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Our Lady of the Lake at Stilwell Stadium. The Lady Owls scored early, then held off late pressure as Kristine Schmidt escaped a seventh-inning bases-loaded jam.
SOU Beach Volleyball Celebration Set
Southern Oregon University will celebrate its national championship beach volleyball team with a parade and trophy presentation Monday, May 18, in Ashland. The Raiders won the NAIA Beach Volleyball Invitational on April 25, capturing the program’s first national title in its fourth season.
Owls, Raiders Win NAIA Openers
Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon each opened NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round play with home-field wins Monday. The Lady Owls shut out Dickinson State in Klamath Falls, while the Raiders defeated Dordt in Ashland, moving both teams into Tuesday semifinal matchups.
Medford Park Projects Move Forward
Several park and recreation projects are moving forward across Medford, including completed upgrades at Harry & David Field, continued construction at Howard Memorial Sports Park, and a major renovation planned for Jackson Park. The projects include field improvements, new pickleball and volleyball facilities, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall replica, and a future splash pad.
KCC’s Lady Badgers Soccer join NWAC’s collegiate conference play in 2026
Klamath Community College now has two collegiate-sanctioned soccer teams — men’s and women’s — that will compete in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) in the 2026-27 academic year.
OSAA Approves New Classifications and Districts for 2026–30
The Oregon School Activities Association has approved new classifications and district alignments for the 2026–30 activity years, including the creation of a new 6A–5A Southwest Hybrid conference affecting several Southern Oregon schools.
